Get into the spirit of fall
These DIY cocktail recipes feature some of the season’s best flavours. From butterscotch to pumpkin, to cinnamon and cider – it’s time to get cozy and warm up with some fall cocktails.
(And just in time for spooky season, we’ve also included cocktails you can feature at your Halloween party!)
Pumpkin Apple Butterscotch Pie Martini
Ingredients:
- ½ cup whipped cream
- 2-3 tsps Cinnamon Sugar (for rim)
- ¼ cup GAGETOWN DISTILLING & CIDERY BARREL AGED APPLE VODKA
- ¼ cup PHILLIPS BUTTER RIPPLE SCHNAPPS
- ½ oz heavy cream
- 2 tsps pumpkin pie spice
- 1 tsps pumpkin pie spice (for topping)
Steps:
- Dip the edges of your martini glasses in water
- Shake off any extra liquid and dip the edges into cinnamon-sugar
- Chill prepared martini glasses in the freezer or the fridge at least thirty minutes before serving
- Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Add the vodka, Schnapps, heavy cream and pumpkin pie spice
- Shake well (30 seconds vigorously)
- Garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks
- Strain into chilled martini glasses
Harvest Apple Cider Margarita
Ingredients:
- 2 tsp Cinnamon sugar (for rim)
- 2 tsp sea salt (for rim)
- ½ ounce PIERRE FERRAND CURACAO
- 2 ounces PATRON SILVER TEQUILA
- 4 ounces apple cider
- Juice from ½ a lime
- 1-2 tsp maple syrup
- Apple slices & cinnamon sticks (for garnish)
Steps:
- Run lime wedge around glass rim and rim glass with salted cinnamon sugar
- Add ice to cocktail shaker
- Combine tequila, orange liqueur, apple cider, lime juice and maple syrup in a cocktail shaker
- Strain into glass
- Garnish with apple slices and cinnamon sticks
- If desired, light cinnamon sticks on fire for smoky effect
Chocolate Coffee Stout Affogato
Ingredients:
- 1 scoop coffee ice cream
- 2 ounces hot espresso
- 1.5 ounces BOLS CACAO WHITE
- ½ can YOUNGS DOUBLE CHOCOLATE STOUT 440ML
Steps:
- Put 1 scoop of coffee ice cream in glass
- Pour in espresso
- Pour in Bols Cacao White
- Pour in Youngs Double Chocolate Stout gently over top
Espresso Martini
Ingredients:
- Ice
- 2 ounces GREY GOOSE VODKA
- ½ ounce DR MCGILLICUDDYS COFFEE
- 1 ounce espresso
- ½ ounce simple syrup
- Coffee beans for garnish
Steps:
- Add ice, vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso and simple syrup to a cocktail shaker and shake until well-chilled
- Strain into martini glass
- Garnish with 3 coffee beans
Witches Brew Lemonade
Ingredients:
- Ice
- 2 oz. EMPRESS GIN
- 2 ounces sparkling lemonade
- 2 ounces BLUE CURACAO
- 1 rosemary sprig
Steps:
- Fill glass with ice
- Pour Empress Gin into glass
- Pour sparkling lemonade into glass
- Carefully pour Blue Caracao into the glass along the side so it rests on the bottom
- Garnish with rosemary sprig
Hocus Pocus
Ingredients:
- 1 ounce BACARDI SUPERIOR
- 2 ounces MALIBU COCONUT
- 1 ounce BLUE CURACAO
- Ice
- 2-3 ounces pineapple juice
- Pineapple wedge for garnish
Steps:
- Combine ice, light rum, coconut rum and blue curacao in cocktail shaker
- Shake until well-chilled
- Pour cocktail shaker into glass
- Fill rest of the glass with chilled pineapple juice
- Garnish with pineapple wedge

Apple Fall Fizz
Ingredients:
- 3 oz apple cider
- 1 oz lime juice
- Pinch powdered cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
- 6 mint leaves
- 3 oz ginger ale
Steps:
- Place apple cider, lime juice, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar and a few ice cubes into a cocktail shaker.
- Clap the mint together in your hands to release the scent and add to the shaker. Shake well until ingredients are combined.
- Strain and pour into a tall glass filled with ice and top with ginger ale.
Sparkling Ginger Apple Mocktail
Ingredients:
- 1 inch slice of fresh ginger
- 3 cups apple cider
- 1 cup ginger beer
- Cinnamon sticks and apple slices, for garnish
Steps:
- Using a muddler, press the fresh ginger in the bottom of a large shaker until fragrant.
- Add cider and shake.
- Divide into 4 ice-filled glasses, then top each with ¼ cup of ginger beer.
- Garnish with fresh apple slices and a cinnamon stick.
