BBQ Sauce HEADER EN

 

Barbequing might just be the best way to prep meals in the summertime. Add some new flavours to your BBQ using these delicious and simple homemade barbecue sauces!

 

BBQ sauce 

Corona Lime BBQ Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 4 garlic cloves, diced
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 1/4 cup Corona beer
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 1 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • Optional: add minced onions, peppers or jalapenos for added flavour!

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Add garlic (and vegetables if using) and saute until it begins to caramelize.  Add honey, beer, brown sugar, lime juice and cayenne. (Can add salt & pepper to taste if preferred) Bring to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Add ketchup and continue simmering for 20-30 minutes.

Jack Daniel's BBQ Sauce

  • 5 garlic cloves, diced
  • 2 ½ cups ketchup
  • 1 tsp Tabasco sauce
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 cup Jack Daniel’s Whiskey
  • 2 tbsp butter

In a large pan, saute the garlic in the butter. Add whiskey and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for an additional 20 minutes.

Pinot Noir BBQ Sauce

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 garlic cloves, diced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 cup pinot noir
  • 1 cup ketchup

In a saucepan add butter and garlic and sauté on medium heat. Add dry ingredients and Worcestershire sauce and stir thoroughly. Add pinot noir and turn heat up to bring to a boil.  Once boiling, simmer for approximately 5 minutes. Add ketchup and simmer for 10 minutes.

BBQ sauce 3

Maple Cider BBQ Sauce

  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder

In a medium saucepan, add all ingredients and bring to a boil, stirring thoroughly. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
