Stift Engelszell Gregorius 330ml

Dark brown liquid with a moderate sized tan head. Caramel, dark candi, grains, dark charred fruit and hints of alcohol. Medium body, with full, soft carbonation. Quite warming. Flavors of prunes, dark caramel, toasted to roasted malt and candi. Some floral and herbal (wintergreen especially) bitterness comes in mid quaff. When I started this one, I was not impressed, but as it has set in my glass, I am starting to appreciate the complexity and nuances.
