Being confined to our homes doesn’t have to be all bad. As working adults we’ve all wished to have some time off to relax at home so let’s take advantage and enjoy it! If you’ve done all your DIY projects and caught up on your spring cleaning, here are a few other ways to spend your day.
1. Marathon watch your favourite series or movies – Thanks to all the online streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, Crave TV and Tubi (this one’s completely FREE!) we can enjoy hours of entertainment from the comfort of our couch and in our PJs all day long.
2. Do some baking and cook some delicious meals – Click here for some great recipes to try at home. (HINT: Lots of free workout classes offered on social media to help combat all the eating!??)
3. Text your crew and set up a live group chat and happy hour! – With apps like FaceTime, Zoom, Messenger and many other platforms, you can still spend time with the people you love most. Its easy to get lost in conversation with friends and even reconnect with some that you’ve been missing.
4. Learn to make a new cocktail! We all have that cupboard with random bottles of spirits and mixes in it…get creative! You can also look here for a few cocktail recipes to try!
5. Check out free content on the web and social media – many musicians, comedians and entertainers are offering free videos and performances online. Here are a few local ones we suggest:
• The Capital Project Boyce Farmer's Concert Film, showcasing some of New Brunswick's incredible talent, is available free online for everyone - thanks to RayneMaker Productions and Grid City Magazine
• Roots & Soul Music Promotions are doing a live broadcast every Sunday called “Living Rooms Music Festival” featuring live local talent.
• James Mullinger Stand up comedy special is FREE on YouTube.
