New Zealand is famous for many things like Manuka honey, rugby, kiwifruit, haka, sheep and the land where the Lord of the Rings is based. But it’s most recent claim to fame is for wine and it’s well deserved. Although New Zealand’s wine history looks relatively short – their wines have only been widely available since the 80s – the grapevine history goes back to 1819. Today there are over 670 wineries in the small country producing some of the world’s most critically acclaimed wines. Here are some of our favourites.
